Prayer Team
The foundation of WMU’s ministry is on sharing God’s Word and Prayer. We know nothing is accomplished without prayer, and therefore, we give it a place of priority. WAMU team keeps in prayer consistently and with great dedication for those who have yet to comprehend the depth of God’s love and grace.
Rev. William Waiswa

Rev. William Waiswa is a Lutheran Pastor, a husband to Christine Kusemererwa Waiswa, and a father to Tobiah Liam Moses.
Born on the 23rd of November, he graduated from the Lutheran Theological College Uganda (Diploma in Theology) and currently pursuing MA at Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne IN, USA. Ordained into the Word and Sacrament Ministry on 13th February 2022, he serves Nakavule Lutheran Church and School (Eastern Deanery).
Nakavule Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Church of Uganda, a confessional body that began in 1994 with 170 congregations and 65 pastors. Situated in Nakavule Village along Nankoma Road, Bugiri District, in Eastern Uganda. Nakavule Lutheran Church serves over 600 members baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.
Rev. William has a heart for the lost, particularly the children and youth of Bugiri, many of whom identify as Muslims. He works with Nakavule Lutheran Church to gather these blind souls, reaching them with Christ’s saving Gospel and showing them how God can transform their lives. That passion for evangelism has driven Rev. William to contribute his skills to the church’s various ministries (Children’s Ministry, Youths Ministry, Chaplaincy Ministry to the Schools, Women’s Ministry, Mercy Ministry, and the Music Ministry).
Rev. William doesn’t take his post for granted. Indeed, he takes great pleasure in serving Uganda’s diverse communities and sharing the love of Christ with anyone who will listen. William looks forward to the incredible work God will continue to do in Bugiri District through Nakavule Lutheran Church. He also welcomes any support well wishers are willing to offer, be it prayers, wisdom, or material resources.
Our History
This ministry began with a call from God and a genuine passion to see those dying without our Savior come to know of His gift of grace and love in different parts of Uganda. Since day one, we gave this ministry into the hands of God that He may lead it as He pleases in order for Christ to be glorified among the nations. It has been a blessing to see the people of God from different parts of the world and from all walks of life come together for this one purpose: to minister to those in great need with Christ’s love.
Mission
Our mission in life is to confess Christ crucified and to live lives fully pleasing to Him. God has given us a special love for the people of Uganda, and it is our desire to minister to them and help them through our ministries like church planting, education, health and practical gifts, or throughthe spiritual transformation of peaceful hearts, restored relationships and mended lives. We do this all in communities both rural and urban and in partnership with the church, the Body of Christ.
Our Values
As a ministry, it is our desire that all we do would flow out of our relationship with Our Lord Christ. We established 7 core values to help us stay on course with the calling Christ has on our lives through WAMU. The First Four relate to our inner life. The last Three relate to the outflow of our lives to others.
Core Values
- Knowing Christ and his work for our Salvation
- Living in submission to God’s Word
- Being a people of faith in Christ alone
- Being a people committed to prayer and worship
- Leadership and servant hood
- Being a people with a passion for souls
- Being a people of God’s love and care
We live by these values as God gives us grace. We believe that in doing so, we will reflect Christ’s life and make Him known to all generation that is dying without ever hearing his saving gospel.
